Niccolò Dainelli

Geologist, graduated in 1996 at the University of Florence, his activity spans over GIS, remote sensing and photo-interpretation applied to Earth Sciences and environmental subjects in general, as well as applied geology and geomorphology.

Since his degree, he has always collaborated with Geomap Srl (of which he became partner in 2008) in projects concerning applied geology, geodatabase design and realization and thematic mapping using GIS, environmental Impact studies. From 1998 to 2003 he has collaborated as GIS and remote sensing consultant with some research centres and public agencies in Italy, such as CNR Ibimet (Istituto di Biometeorologia), FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of UN), CeSIA (Centro di Studi per l’applicazione dell’Informatica in Agricoltura), and FMA (Fondazione di Meteorologia Applicata), for several projects of evaluation and management of natural resources in Italy and abroad, where he has carried out some missions for technical assistance and training. From 1997 to present he was involved as field geologist in geological mapping projects promoted by public agencies (University of Florence: regional geological map of Tuscany; Regione Umbria: regional geological map of Umbria). Since 2000 he is active in the field of professional training, as teacher and organizer of courses on GIS and remote sensing for several organizations: Società Italiana di Geologia Ambientale (Rome) Istituto Agronomico per l’Oltremare (Florence), Universities of Florence and Rome (La Sapienza), Association (Florence).

He is member of AIT (Italian Association of Remote Sensing) and he is registered at No. 955 in the Regional Roll of Geologists of Tuscany since 24/03/1997.
