Geologist, graduated in 1957 at the University of Florence, he is active in applied geology and geomorphology, remote sensing and thematic mapping.
His professional activity began as a field geologist of the company “Società Monte Amiata”, for mercury deposits exploration, between April and November 1958. Between 1959 and 1968 he is geologist and then senior geologist photo-interpreter of Geomap SA, under the direction of Prof. Enrico Marchesini. In this period he works on several projects dealing with photo-interpretation, fractures analysis, supervision of thematic mapping, geological and structural field surveys, for hydrocarbon, mineral, geothermal and hydrogeological exploration. His experience, as a project leader or senior photo-interpreter, extends on more than 600.000 square m, over the Italian territory, Morocco, Lybia, Spain, Egypt, Mozambique and Ecuador. Field activity was carried out in Italy, Morocco, Spain and Ecuador.
At the same time, from 1961 to 1968, he works as field geologist for the Italian Ministero dell’Industria e Commercio (Ministry of Industry and Trade) for the realization of the new Geological Map of Italy at the 1:100.000 scale.
Since 1968 he is professional associate of the Studio Geologico Geomap, based in Florence. He leads, supervises and takes part in several projects for hydrocarbon, mineral, geothermal and hydrogeological exploration, for the study of coastal morphology, land planning and environmental analysis in Italy, Egypt, Mauritania, Tunisia, Dominican Republic, Turkey, Guatemala, Lybia, El Salvador, Colombia, Ecuador, Morocco, Somalia, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, by photo-interpretation and field surveys.
Since 1989 he is partner of Geomap srl, Florence, where he leads or participates to several projects of the Company. He collaborates at the activity of promotion and planning of work.
He is member of the Società Geologica Italiana (Italian Geological Society) and he is registered at No. 25 in the Regional Roll of Geologists of Tuscany since 11/05/1968.
